Beta draft. These terms may change before Palloo opens to everyone.
Terms of Service
- Version
- 2026-10-17
- Effective
Welcome to Palloo! These terms explain the rules for using the hosted Palloo service: the website at palloo.app, the app at app.palloo.app, and the systems behind them. We've tried to keep them short and readable. "We" and "us" mean the operator of Palloo, and "you" means you, the person using it.
1. Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using Palloo, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy and our Acceptable Use Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Palloo.
Each version of these terms has a version identifier and an effective date, shown at the top of this page. When you accept the terms, Palloo records which version you accepted and when. If we publish a new version that needs your agreement, the app asks you to accept it before you keep using Palloo.
2. Who can use Palloo
You must be old enough to agree to these terms under the laws where you live, and at least the minimum age those laws set for using an online service like Palloo. If you're not, please don't create an account. If we learn that someone under the minimum age has an account, we'll close it.
3. Your account
- Keep it accurate and safe. Give us accurate information when you sign up, keep your password to yourself and let us know through the app if you think someone else has gotten into your account. You can review and sign out of your active sessions in your settings.
- One person per account. Your account is for you. Don't share it or sell it, and don't create accounts on someone else's behalf without their permission.
- Usernames. Pick a username that follows the Acceptable Use Policy. We may reclaim or change a username that impersonates someone or breaks these terms.
- Bots and webhooks. If you create a bot or a webhook, you're responsible for what it does, just as if you had done it yourself. Keep its tokens secret.
- Deleting your account. You can delete your account in your settings at any time. Your account is deactivated right away and signed out everywhere. You have 14 days to change your mind by signing back in; after that, your account is permanently removed as our Privacy Policy describes. Messages you posted stay in their channels and DMs, shown as "Deleted User", unless you delete them first.
4. Your content
You own what you post on Palloo: your messages, files, images, profile and everything else you create.
To run Palloo, we need your permission to handle that content. By posting it, you give us a license to store, copy, display, transmit and process it (for example, resizing images or making backups), only as needed to operate and secure the service. This license is limited to running Palloo. It doesn't let us sell your content or use it for advertising.
Please only post content you have the right to share. You're responsible for what you post.
5. Servers, moderators and their rules
On Palloo, communities are called servers. Server owners and moderators set their own rules and enforce them with tools like deleting messages, timeouts, kicks and bans. Their rules can be stricter than ours, but never looser.
We don't review everything posted on Palloo, and we're not responsible for how a server is run. If something breaks our rules, please report it in the app.
6. Acceptable use
Our Acceptable Use Policy is part of these terms. It explains what's not allowed on Palloo and what happens if someone breaks the rules.
7. Federation
Palloo is designed so that separate Palloo instances can connect with each other in the future. This feature, called federation, is not available yet. When it launches, content you post in servers shared with people from other instances may be sent to and stored by those instances, which we don't control. We'll update these terms and our Privacy Policy before that happens.
8. The hosted service and self-hosted instances
These terms cover only the hosted Palloo service at palloo.app and app.palloo.app. Anyone can run their own Palloo instance, and those instances are run by their own operators under their own terms and privacy policies. The license for the Palloo software itself is separate from these terms.
9. Moderation, suspension and termination
To keep Palloo safe, we may remove content, quarantine files, time out or ban accounts, suspend or close accounts, remove servers from the public server directory, or take other action when someone breaks these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or when the law requires it.
We usually consider how serious a problem is and whether it's happened before. For the most serious harms, especially anything involving the safety of children, we act immediately and without notice.
If you think we got something wrong, we want to hear about it. An appeal process will be described here before Palloo opens to everyone.
You can stop using Palloo at any time by deleting your account.
10. Paid features
Palloo doesn't sell any paid features during the beta. If we offer paid features later, we'll add the terms for them here before you can buy them.
11. Bots, webhooks and other services
Bots, webhooks and other integrations are created and run by other people, not by us. We're not responsible for what third-party services do, so please only add the ones you trust.
12. The beta and our disclaimers
Palloo is in beta. We work hard to keep it running smoothly, but it's provided "as is" and "as available". We can't promise it will always be available, free of bugs or right for every purpose, and features may change or be removed while we build it out. Please keep your own copies of anything important to you; you can download a copy of your data from your settings.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived by agreement.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Palloo grows. When we do, we'll publish the new version here with a new version identifier and effective date. When a change needs your agreement, the app will ask you to accept the new version before you keep using Palloo.
14. Contact
You can report content and accounts directly in the app. A contact address for questions about these terms will be listed here before Palloo opens to everyone.
